Chief Justice of Pakistan stands with IHC Judges on Letter issue

A full court meeting was held in the Supreme Court under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa says that any kind of interference in the judiciary will not be tolerated.

According to Geo News, a full court meeting was held in the Supreme Court under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

The meeting was on the issue of 6 judges letter of the Islamabad High Court. Full court meeting issued the declaration on the issue.

According to the announcement, the Chief Justice of Pakistan received the letter on March 26. On the seriousness of the matter, he called a meeting of the 6 judges of Islamabad on the same day.

The Chief Justice invited all the judges to his residence and asked all the judges individually. In the meeting, it was suggested to form an inquiry commission, headed by a retired judge of good repute, the inquiry commission should investigate the matter.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif assured that a federal cabinet meeting will be called to approve the formation of the commission.

The statement also said that the full court meeting considered the issues raised in the letter of six judges.

The Chief Justice said that the executive’s interference in the judicial work of the judges will not be tolerated. The executive’s interference in the judiciary as an institution will not be tolerated at all. The independence of the judiciary cannot be compromised under any circumstances.

The full court meeting was held after the meeting between Chief Justice and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

It should be noted that 6 judges of Islamabad High Court had raised the issue of interference of executive and secret agencies in the judiciary.

These judges mentioned the incidents that happened to them and wrote that the scope of the investigation should be wide so that there is still no interference in the marking and formation of benches for hearing the cases?
