Commissioner Sahiwal plants in Faridia Park on World Forest Day
PHA organized a special plantation ceremony at Faridia Park Sahiwal.
Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed has said that plants play an important role in human survival. The protection and irrigation of plants is the responsibility of every member of the society.
Only by planting more trees the problems like environmental pollution and global warming can be tackled, which has affected Pakistan the most.
He said this while addressing a special plantation ceremony organized by PHA at Faridia Park on the occasion of World Forest Day.
Director General PHA Malik Muhammad Ikram, Additional Commissioner Coordination Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, Director Development and Local Government Dr. Saifullah, Director Public Relations Muhammad Aqeel Ashfaq, Deputy Director PHA Allahyar Bhatti and students of local schools, City School, Quaid-e-Azam School, Comprehensive School, Amal School and Educators participated in the ceremony at Faridia park and planted hundreds of plants of jambul, berry, olive and other local species.
Commissioner Sahiwal Shoaib Iqbal Syed said that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz is paying special attention to the vision of Green Punjab and under her direction every citizen is planting saplings under the Plant for Pakistan campaign so that the lack of trees in the country could be eliminated.
He urged the students to plant in schools and take care of it. On this occasion, Director General PHA Malik Muhammad Ikram said that PHA is continuing a special campaign to plant fruit trees and flowering plants in the city to make Sahiwal more beautiful.
Describing the role of public and private schools as important in this campaign, he urged the school heads to plant saplings with every child in their institutions so that they are also aware of the importance of trees.
