Brother kills sister in the name of Honor in Toba Tek Singh
DPO Toba Tek Singh says that the murder was done to hide the illicit relationship.
In Toba Tek Singh, the brother strangles his young sister in front of the family in the name of honor. Video footage has gone viral on social media.
In the video, the brother can be seen strangling his sister, the girl’s father and sister-in-law are also present during the incident.
Shehbaz, the second brother of the deceased, says that he made the video of the incident by putting his mobile phone to his ear.
According to the sister-in-law of the victim, the accused had threatened to take her young daughters hostage and kill them if she told anyone. The deceased girl’s name was Maria and she was 22 years old. The incident took place in Chak 477 of Toba Tek Singh city.
In this regard, the DPO Toba Tek Singh says that the murder was done to hide the illicit relationship. After the murder the girl was buried quietly. The police has arrested the accused father and brother.
The police say that the incident took place between the night of March 17 and 18. Further investigation is underway.
