Muhammad Arshad Malik holds meeting on ‘Suthra Punjab program’

Arshad Malik directed the district administration to ensure transparency at every stage of the program.

Sahiwal (Sahiwal Updates) Chairman District Monitoring Committee for Chief Minister’s Special Initiative and Member Punjab Assembly Muhammad Arshad Malik has said that according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the process of distribution of Nighaban Ramadan package is going on.

He directed the district administration to ensure transparency at every stage of the program so that the right of the beneficiary can be delivered to their doorstep.

He said that all the resources should be utilized for the welfare of the people and every individual should fulfill his responsibility in an efficient manner.

He was presiding over a special meeting at DC office’s Montgomery Hall here to review the Nighaban Ramadan package and Suthra Punjab program.

Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Ikram ul Haq, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Syed Usman Munir Bukhari, AC Sahiwal Muhammad Uzman Chaudhry, Sardar Mehtab Khan, Shahroz Sadiq Khan Lodhi and all the officers of the district departments attended the meeting.

Member Punjab Assembly Muhammad Arshad Malik said that the local government and municipal corporations have the main role in the Suthra Punjab program.

He assured the municipal officers of his full cooperation. Deputy Commissioner Ikram ul Haq while giving the details of Nighaban Ramadan package said that under the program, ration will be distributed among more than 190 thousand deserving people of Sahiwal district, out of which ration has been delivered to 117 thousand people.

He further informed that the process of verification of deserving persons is going on rapidly and in this regard the support of School Education Department has been obtained.

He directed the Price Magistrates present in the meeting that there should be no compromise on the quality of food items and small shopkeepers and carters should not be harassed.

He said that in order to ensure the supply of fruits and vegetables to the people at cheaper prices than the general market during Ramadan, Agriculture Fair Price Shops have been established in Ramadan Bazaar from where citizens can buy 13 different items at 25 percent lower rates.
