West Indies to Play First Test Series in Pakistan in 19 Years
The Pakistan national team is aiming to build on their dominant performance in October 2024.
The West Indies team is set to return to Pakistan for their first red-ball series in nearly two decades, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.
The Caribbean side, led by Kraigg Brathwaite, will arrive in Islamabad on January 6, following a three-day match against Pakistan Shaheens from January 10-12 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Afterward, they will head to Multan for two consecutive Test matches, part of the ICC Test Championship. The first Test will take place from January 17-21, while the second is scheduled from January 25-29.
This marks the West Indies’ first Test series in Pakistan since their visit in November 2006, where they played three Test matches.
Their most recent Test series against Pakistan was in the UAE in October 2016.
Since 2018, the West Indies have toured Pakistan multiple times, including an ODI series in June 2022 and two T20I series in April 2018 and December 2021.
The Pakistan national team is aiming to build on their dominant performance in October 2024, where they achieved a 3-0 victory over England in their most recent home Test series, marking their first series win at home since January 2021.
