Telecom company Etisalat has unveiled this automated store at Gitex Global, the world’s largest technology fair, which began on Monday. E& Chief Executive Officer Masood M. Sharif Mehmood says that this self-service store called ‘EASE’ is in the Al-Kaif area of Dubai.
Customers visiting the store can check out a range of products, including mobile devices and accessories, prepaid and postpaid plans, and purchase them by paying at the kiosks.
He further said that thanks to the expertise and technical capabilities of our team, this store has been built to offer a unique shopping experience to future customers. With the launch of this store, we are proud to be the first telecom company in the world to offer such a distinctive customer experience.
In an automated store, several artificial intelligence technologies work together to help customers shop seamlessly. These technologies include artificial intelligence, machine learning, sensors, smart gates, digital touch points, and autonomous devices and trade-in machines.
On the other hand, some circles are seeing such stores as job killers, which will further reduce the dependence on humans in the future. The result of which is likely to be an increase in unemployment.
