In a separate incident in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) Neelum Valley, a jeep traveling from Sharda to Kel plunged into a ditch, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.
Dr. Muhammad Ashraf Khan confirmed that the authorities injured seven others, with two in critical condition, and promptly transferred them to the hospital for treatment.
Witnesses stated that snow-covered roads contributed to the tragic crash, which involved members of the same family.
In another incident, a vehicle plunged into a ravine in Astore, leaving six passengers injured. Police reported that the wounded have been shifted to the hospital for care.
These accidents follow a series of adverse weather conditions in northern regions, marked by intermittent snowfall in areas like Babusar Top and Nanga Parbat.
Landslides and road accidents are common in these mountainous terrains.
Earlier last month, a similar disaster claimed 14 lives when a bus carrying wedding guests fell off a bridge into the Indus River in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The authorities indicated that the driver’s negligence likely caused the crash, citing overspeeding as the primary factor.
