Sahiwal Teaching Hospital inaugurates new operation theaters
Now it is the responsibility of the doctors to make full use of these operation theaters and give relief to the people.
Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed has said that the main responsibility of the government is to bring ease in the lives of the people, for which reforms and facilities are being increased in various sectors.
The inauguration of state-of-the-art operation theaters in the surgical tower of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital will not only provide modern medical facilities to the patients but will also save them from the painful journey to other cities for treatment.
Now it is the responsibility of the doctors to make full use of these operation theaters and give relief to the people.
He was addressing a ceremony here to operationalize 12 modern operation theaters in the hospital at a huge cost of Rs 2 billion. Deputy Commissioner Ikram ul Haq, Principal Professor Dr. Muhammad Imran Hassan Khan, Medical Superintendent Dr. Akhtar Mehboob, former Director Health Dr. Sadiq Saleem, CEO Health Dr. Abdul Majeed Niazi, Dr. Nisar Ahmed Saeedi, Dr. Ahmed Zeeshan Jameel, Dr. Farrukh Shahzad, President PMA Dr. Sarfraz Chaudhry, Surgeon Dr. Muhammad Mazhar, CEO Sahiwal International Hospital Dr. Mazhar Shirazi, Dr. Zahid Sattar, Dr. Samiullah, Dr. Muhammad Wasim, Dr. Khalil Ahmed, Dr. Haroon Gilani, DMS Dr. Zeeshan Mirza, Director Finance Dr. Muhammad Aleem, Dr. Hassan Rahim and Dr. Aamir Qureshi along with related staff participated in large numbers.
Speaking at the event, Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Imran Hassan Khan said that starting work of 12 more operation theaters in the hospital will provide great convenience to the patients. He demanded the government to provide resources to the hospital with 1150 beds instead of 377 beds so that the patients can be well cared for.
Deputy Commissioner Ikram ul Haq assured the full cooperation of the district administration for solving the problems of the hospital and for the welfare of the patients. Earlier, in his welcome speech, MS Dr. Akhtar Mehboob said that despite limited financial resources and lack of staff, more than 2,000 patients are treated in the OPD every day in the hospital, which can be increased if more resources are available.
He appreciated the tireless efforts of Dr. Nisar Ahmad Saeedi, Head of the Department of Urology and his team in establishing operation theaters. Later, special shields and certificates were also distributed among the team members.
