5 Million 31 thousand voters to cast their vote in Sahiwal Division

In Sahiwal Division, all arrangements have been completed for general elections on Thursday, in which more than 5 million 31 thousand voters will exercise their right to vote for 9 seats of the National Assembly and 20 seats of the Provincial Assembly.

The Election Commission has established 3608 polling stations for these election 2024 in Sahiwal Division.

To review the arrangements in detail, a special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed in which RPO Mehboob Rasheed, Additional Commissioner Coordination Shafiq Ahmad Dogar, Deputy Commissioners/District Returning Officers of the three districts Ikram ul Haq, Dr. Zeeshan Hanif. , Sadia Mehr, Regional Election Commissioner Syed Basit Ali Shah and District Election Commissioners also participated.

Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed directed that the administration, police and Election Commission should keep close contact to immediately remove the obstacles in the general elections and immediately remove the difficulties encountered in the field.

He also directed to install CCTV cameras at all 278 highly sensitive polling stations of the division.

It was informed in the meeting that the election materials will be handed over to the staff on February 7 and they will be taken to the polling stations in special buses for which the transport plan and security plan have been finalized.

1258 vehicles have been procured for staff transportation while 5911 police personnel will be present for security duty. Apart from this, Rangers and army troops will also be on standby.

Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed strictly instructed all District Returning Officers to use the powers assigned by the Election Commission for peaceful polling without hesitation so that no one dares to riot.
