Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce Delegation Meets Commissioner Sahiwal
The delegation included the Chamber President, Sheikh Azmat Saleem, Senior Vice President, Chaudhry Nasir Hameed, and other officials.
A delegation from the Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Shoaib Iqbal Syed, to discuss the issue of auctioning shops.
The delegation included the Chamber President, Sheikh Azmat Saleem, Senior Vice President, Chaudhry Nasir Hameed, and other officials.
Senior Vice President Nasir Hameed Chaudhry urged the Commissioner to immediately halt the auction of municipal committee shops in Arifwala and instead propose a reasonable increase in rents.
He highlighted that the business community and the labor class are already struggling with an economic crisis.
Hundreds of people rely on these government-owned shops for their livelihoods, and the auction would exacerbate the difficulties faced by small traders and shopkeepers. He requested that rents be raised appropriately rather than creating additional hardships.
Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed assured the delegation of a swift resolution to the matter, emphasizing that municipal committee tenants would not face any injustices.
The meeting also included consultations on various issues faced by traders and the Chamber. The Commissioner assured the delegation of full cooperation and the resolution of all concerns.
