Sahiwal Arts Council organizes two-day Literary and Cultural Conference

This significant conference will be held on December 19 and 20 at Jinnah Hall Sahiwal.

The arrangements for the 5th two-day Literary and Cultural Conference, organized by the Sahiwal Arts Council, have been completed.

This significant conference will be held on December 19 and 20 at Jinnah Hall Sahiwal, where prominent Urdu writers, researchers, and intellectuals from within the country and abroad will participate.

The theme of the conference is “Artificial Intelligence, Literature, and Culture: Challenges, Risks, and Opportunities”, on which researchers will present their papers.

At the end of the conference, participants will also be taken on a tour of Sahiwal’s historical sites, including the Waris Shah Mosque in Malka Hans and the shrine of Baba Farid Ganj Shakar in Pakpattan.

Key Highlights of Literary Conference:

  • Inaugural Session: The conference will be inaugurated by Commissioner Sahiwal, Shoaib Iqbal Syed, with the keynote address by Nasir Abbas Nayyar.
  • Esteemed Guests of Honor: Asghar Nadeem Syed, Dr. Rifat Abbas, and Dr. Roshan Nadeem.
  • Presidency of Sessions: Dr. Anwar Ahmad, Dr. Najeeb Jamal, and Dr. Saadat Saeed.
  • Event Hosts: The inaugural session will be hosted by Mian Muhammad Sajid, while other sessions will be hosted by the CEO of Riphah University Sahiwal Campus, Chaudhry Muhammad Amin.

Key Activities of the Conference:

  1. Art Exhibition: Display of artwork inspired by Harappa Civilization.
  2. AI Projects Showcase: Exhibition of modern technological innovations.
  3. Literary Activities: Display of Urdu books, impressionistic films, and “Mother Tongue Mushaira.”
  4. Theater and Drama: Performances such as “Technology ka Saraab” and “Ek Raat Ravi Di.”
  5. Cultural Events: Musical evening and tableaux.

The conference is being organized with special support from the Barani Institute of Sciences, Riphah University Sahiwal Campus, and the University of Sahiwal.
