Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announces special package in Ramadan

Under the Ramadan relief package, the deserving people will be given 30% cheaper items from the market.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a special package for the people of Pakistan in the month of Ramadan.

He has increased the size of the Ramadan relief package from 7.5 billion to 12.5 billion rupees. He has also directed to increase the scope of the Ramadan relief package. In this regard, with BISP, mobile units along with utility stores will also provide cheap food items.

The Prime Minister has directed that the Ramadan relief package should be delivered to as many poor, indigent and deserving people as possible. Initially 1200 mobile points and 300 permanent package relief centers are being set up.

In the Prime Minister relief package from 1st to the end of Ramadan, items will be given at a lower price than the normal market.

Apart from the designated locations, the trucks will deliver affordable items to the poor people in different areas while a special video will also be released to guide the use of the mobile app.

A digital technology dashboard is being created to monitor mobile flour sales. It has been further informed that the distribution of flour will be continuously monitored through mobile and live footage.

Through the relief package, 3 crore 96 lakh families will be given food items at cheap prices during Ramadan.

Under the Ramadan relief package, the deserving people will be given 30% cheaper items from the market. A subsidy of Rs 77 per kg will be given on flour and Rs 70 per kg on ghee.

It should be noted that earlier on March 7, the Prime Minister Shahbaz had announced the Ramadan relief package with a subsidy of 7.5 billion rupees.
