Pakistan’s New High Commissioner to Canada, Mohammad Saleem, Assumes Office
Mohammad Saleem emphasized that they need to act as a bridge between Canada and Pakistan.
Pakistan’s new High Commissioner to Canada, Mohammad Saleem, has assumed his responsibilities.
Mohammad Saleem joined the Foreign Service in 1995 and has held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.
He has also served at Pakistan’s diplomatic missions in Germany, Romania, Bahrain, and Canada, and held the position of High Commissioner of Pakistan in Tanzania from 2020 to 2022.
In a conversation with Jang representative, the new High Commissioner, Mohammad Saleem, stated that he aims to further strengthen the friendly relations between Pakistan and Canada.
He added that his priorities include focusing on political, economic, investment, trade, higher education, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people connections between the two countries.
In response to various questions, High Commissioner Mohammad Saleem mentioned that there are 400,000 Pakistanis living in Canada, all of whom are educated immigrants.
He emphasized that they need to act as a bridge between Canada and Pakistan.
He also conveyed a message to the Pakistani community, urging them to unite rather than focus on small political divisions, emphasizing that Pakistan is our identity.
