Muhammad Arshad Malik presides over the review meeting at Montgomery Hall

He reviewed the measures taken for the welfare of the citizens of Punjab.

Chairman District Monitoring Committee for Chief Minister’s Special Initiative and Member Punjab Assembly Muhammad Arshad Malik has said that according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawazsharif, the process of distribution of Nigehban Ramadan package should be made transparent and the ration should be given to the deserving people without any like or dislike.

He said that the verification process should be made easier and lists should be provided to the Union Council and villages so that the information of more people can be verified quickly.

He further said that the lists should also be displayed in the AC offices in Sahiwal and Chichawatni to reduce the rush of people at various places.

He was presiding over a special meeting at the Montgomery Hall of the DC office here in which he reviewed the measures taken for the welfare of the citizens of Punjab.

Member Provincial Assembly Qasim Nadeem, Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Ikram ul Haq, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Syed Usman Munir Bukhari, Shahruz Sadiq Khan Lodhi and all the officers of the district departments attended the meeting.

Member Punjab Assembly Muhammad Arshad Malik has said that everyone needs to work together to complete the projects started by the Chief Minister for the welfare of the people.

He said that there is a need to deliver instead of claims. On this occasion, MPA Qasim Nadeem said that more and more people should be made aware of the “Suthra Punjab” program of the Punjab government.

He said that proper arrangements should be made for dumping the garbage collected from the city and garbage cans should be installed at different places.

Deputy Commissioner Ikram ul Haq while giving the details of Nigehban Ramadan package said that under the program, ration will be distributed to more than 190,000 deserving people of Sahiwal district.

Apart from this, the process of verification of 1 lakh 44 thousand people has been completed. He said that till now ration has been delivered to 54953 deserving people.

He said that the support of the food department is being sought to ensure food quality and apart from this, revenue and MC staff duties have also been imposed on godowns.

He further informed that in order to ensure the supply of fruits and vegetables to the public at cheaper prices than the general market during Ramadan, Agricultural Fair Price Shops have been established in Ramadan Bazaar where citizens can buy 13 different items at 25 percent lower rates.

Deputy Commissioner Ikram ul Haq said with reference to Suthra Punjab program that all Union Councils are being made zero waste for which all relevant institutions are working in a dynamic manner.
