PTI has demanded a transparent judicial inquiry into the incidents of both dates.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have sharply criticized the current government during a major press conference in Peshawar and demanded a judicial inquiry into the May 9 and November 24 incidents.
Party leaders Omar Ayub, Asad Qaiser, and Shibli Faraz, among others, termed the government’s policies, human rights violations, and arrests of workers as fascism.
Key points of the press conference:
1. Demand for inquiry into the incidents of May 9 and November 24
PTI has demanded a transparent judicial inquiry into the incidents of both dates, which include allegations of arrest of hundreds of workers and martyrdom of 12 workers.
2. Hint of civil disobedience movement
Omar Ayub warned that if these incidents are not investigated, PTI will launch a civil disobedience movement, for which the timeframe will be announced later.
3. Prayer events for the martyrs
On December 13, PTI leaders will hold prayer events for the martyrs, while workers abroad will take out rallies on December 15.
4. Offer for talks
PTI has formed a high-powered committee for talks, which includes Asad Qaiser, Ali Amin Gandapur, Hamid Raza, and Omar Ayub. Through this committee, discussions will be held with the government to resolve the issues.
5. Allegations on the November 24 incidents
Omar Ayub claimed that American-made machines and snipers were used on November 24 and 25, and human rights violations were committed in these incidents.
6. Serious allegations on the government
The leaders called the current government fascist, saying that the bodies of workers were disappeared from hospitals and their families were pressured to give fake statements.
Demands and Possible Outcomes:
PTI has clearly made the following demands:
- Free and transparent investigation into the incidents of May 9 and November 24.
- Immediate release of all arrested workers.
- Stop human rights violations.
If these demands are not met, PTI has threatened to launch a civil disobedience movement, for which the government will be held fully responsible.
These steps show that PTI is becoming more active in increasing pressure on the government in the current political situation and demanding justice for its workers.
