CM Punjab announces electric bikes for government employees

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also officially inaugurated the Ching Chee Rickshaw Registration Program across Punjab.

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, 26 thousand electric motorbikes and rickshaws will be given to government employees.

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi formally announced the program of giving interest free electric bikes and electric rickshaws at a special function organized by the Punjab Transport Department at a local hotel.

Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also officially inaugurated the Ching Chee Rickshaw Registration Program across Punjab.

According to media reports, the electric rickshaw making industry has also been formally started in Punjab. Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi gave the first license to manufacture electric rickshaws to the CEO of Sazgar Company.

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi made a post on social networking website “X” giving details of Green Drive Electric Vehicle Scheme of Punjab which are as follows.

  • 10,000 e-bikes: Interest-free for students
  • 2,000 E Three Wheeler: Interest Free for PWDs
  • 2,000 e-bikes: interest-free for working women
  • 10,000 E-Rickshaw: Interest-free for public
  • 2,000 e-motorcycles: Interest-free for government employees

In his post, the Chief Minister wrote that Pak electric vehicles will pave the way for a clean and green tomorrow to combat smog and promote a better environment.

Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Punjab Ahmed Khawar Shehzad has said that the electric motorcycle (e-bike) produced by TEVTA Punjab will play an important role in the development of the country.
