Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Shahid Mahmood visited different areas of the city and took a detailed review of the ongoing work under the PSAP program.
According to the details, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood visited the roundabout. He directed to make a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation of the roads dug by the Sui Gas Department in the roundabout and Jinnah Chowk and said that they should be restored soon.
DC Sahiwal checked the design of College Chowk and also directed to complete it soon. He checked the remodeling of Comprehensive Chowk and expressed hope that widening the road from 22 feet to 54 feet will solve traffic problems and the beauty of the chowk will also increase.
He said that the construction work of the roads should be completed as per the timeline and quality should be kept in mind at all times. Later, he also inspected the conduits being laid and reviewed the ongoing work there.
He directed that the pace of work should be accelerated and it should be completed by February at all costs. Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood also visited the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Expressing satisfaction with the pace of work, he directed that the pace of work should be further accelerated so that the project can be made functional and its fruits can be delivered to the public as soon as possible.
Giving a briefing on the occasion, City Manager P.S.P. Muhammad Asjad Khan said that the sewerage system of the South Zone will be completed by the end of February and made functional in March, while the North Zone will be completed by April.
He further said that the timeline for completing the Waste Water Treatment Plant is June 2026, which will be completed in June 2025 and connected to the sewerage system and made functional. He said that the ongoing work on High Street and College Road will also be completed by February 2025.
