Billie Eilish Addresses On-Stage Safety After Incident
Eilish’s plea for caution comes as part of a broader conversation about fan behavior at live events.
Billie Eilish has spoken out following a startling on-stage incident where she was struck by an object while performing.
The Grammy-winning artist was hit in the face by a bracelet during her rendition of “What Was I Made For?” at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Friday, December 13.
A video of the incident, which quickly went viral on TikTok, shows the 22-year-old flinching and momentarily turning away from the crowd before continuing her performance of the Oscar-winning track from the Barbie film soundtrack.
Despite the unexpected interruption, Eilish displayed professionalism by seamlessly continuing her set.
Reflecting on the experience, Eilish—who has been a global sensation for years—has consistently called for safer concert practices.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in July 2023, she revealed that being hit by objects during performances has been an ongoing issue for her.
“People just get excited, and it can be dangerous,” Eilish said. “It’s absolutely infuriating when you’re up there. I have mixed feelings about it because when you’re up there, it blows. But you know it’s out of love, and they’re just trying to give you something. You’re in a vulnerable position, but I’ve been getting hit with stuff for years.”
Eilish’s plea for caution comes as part of a broader conversation about fan behavior at live events.
While many fans express their admiration through gifts, such actions can pose risks to performers and disrupt the flow of their shows.
Professionally, Billie Eilish is in the midst of her “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour, which kicked off in September.
Following her North American performances, she is set to continue her shows across Europe and Australia, where her dedicated fanbase eagerly awaits her electrifying stage presence.
