Prince Andrew’s Royal Status: King Charles Won’t Strip His Title
A royal expert clarified that King Charles lacks the authority to strip Andrew of his title.
Despite recent controversies surrounding Prince Andrew, King Charles has decided not to remove his brother’s royal title or exclude him from family gatherings, including Christmas celebrations.
Prince Andrew, who has been under scrutiny due to allegations linking him to a suspected “spy,” will still be allowed to celebrate Christmas with the royal family.
A royal expert clarified that King Charles lacks the authority to strip Andrew of his title.
Royal commentator Charles Rae stated, “He [Andrew] is his brother, and he’s still a member of the family. It’s as simple as that.” Rae dismissed speculation that Andrew might be barred from attending the royal family’s Christmas event, emphasizing that the gathering is primarily a private, familial occasion.
“It’s like millions of other families getting together on Christmas Day. This isn’t a royal event; it’s a family event,” Rae explained. He further defended Andrew’s presence, noting, “No matter what he does at the moment, he’s still a member of the family. You can’t take that away from him.”
Addressing King Charles’s perspective, Rae shared insights into the monarch’s feelings about his younger brother: “He still loves his brother. Andrew may be the troublesome sibling, and Charles likely wishes he wasn’t, but the love is still there. It’s very difficult for anyone to exclude a family member, even in such circumstances.”
The expert concluded by reiterating that while Prince Andrew’s position within the Firm may be contentious, his familial ties remain intact. “You cannot exclude him from the family. It’s a bond that goes beyond titles and roles,” Rae said.
