Amjad Ali Shines at Istanbul Marathon as Thousands Participate

On the women’s side, Bahraini athlete Ruth Jebet emerged as the champion.

In an impressive demonstration of athletic prowess, Pakistani runner Amjad Ali excelled at the Istanbul Marathon held on Sunday, earning the title of the fastest Pakistani finisher in the event.

Taking part in the 46th edition of this unique marathon—which spans two continents—Ali finished with an outstanding overall ranking of 47th, clocking in at 2 hours, 49 minutes, and 29 seconds.

The 42-kilometre race commenced on Istanbul’s Asian side and concluded on the European side, attracting thousands of participants.

Ethiopian runner Dejene Debela claimed victory in the men’s category, finishing the marathon in a remarkable time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 40 seconds.

He was closely followed by Kenyan Matthew Samperu, who finished in 2:11:55, while Kenneth Kiprop Kipkemoi secured third place with a time of 2:12:07.

On the women’s side, Bahraini athlete Ruth Jebet emerged as the champion.

Alongside Amjad, several other Pakistani athletes demonstrated their endurance and skill throughout the marathon.

Muzammil Khan Niazi completed the race in 3 hours, 13 minutes, and 45 seconds, while Bilal Umar finished in 3 hours, 45 minutes, and 58 seconds.

Other Pakistani competitors, including Ali Khurshid, Rohail Ahmed, Asad Tuneker, and Muhammad Adnan, all successfully completed the race in under four hours.
