Leading Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji has revealed that the only film she considered her misfortune to not be a part of was the 2001 film Lagaan produced by actor Aamir Khan.
It should be noted that director Ashutosh Gowariker’s 2001 film Lagaan was a hit at the box office and did a lot of business.
These views were expressed by 45-year-old Rani Mukerji while speaking during an interactive session on the occasion of the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) Awards in Goa.
Rani Mukerji said that during the shooting days of the film Lagaan, she had signed another film and its shooting was going to start in the next 20 days and there was a conflict in the dates of these two films.
She said that meanwhile, Aamir Khan told me that he was shooting this film in a very special way and he wanted all his actors to stay in a specific place for six months.
The actress said that on Aamir’s talk, I asked my producer if it was possible for me to work in Aamir Khan’s film as he was my close friend. But the producer refused, which I also regretted and thus had to leave the film Lagaan.
