Sahiwal Teaching Hospital organizes walk on World Hepatitis Day
It is important for a healthy person to get his liver checked once a year.
Principal Sahiwal Medical College Professor Dr. Muhammad Imran Hasan Khan has said that hepatitis is a dangerous disease whose timely diagnosis is of great importance for treatment.
There is a need to educate the public about hepatitis in order to avoid liver damage and medical complications arising from it.
He was addressing an awareness walk on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day at Sahiwal Teaching Hospital here. Medical Superintendent Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Supra, heads of various departments, Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Dr. Zahid Rafiq, Dr. Samiullah, Dr. Muhammad Osama, Dr. Hasan Yusuf, Dr. Sajjad Hussain, and a large number of doctors and paramedical staff participated in the walk.
MS Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Sapra said that the gastroenterology department has facilities for complete treatment of this treatable disease after timely diagnosis.
Dr. Muhammad Osama said that hepatitis is considered a silent disease that is detected only when the disease becomes untreatable. Therefore, it is important for a healthy person to get his liver checked once a year.
