Govt. Graduate College holds ceremony for Sahiwal magazine

Government Graduate College Sahiwal holds ceremony for the academic and literary magazine “Sahiwal” which Prof. Qamarul Zaman Khan was the chief guest.

While the guest of honor was Director Sahiwal Arts Council Qaiser Saleem and Director Public Relations Muhammad Aqeel Ashfaq.

Principal Government Graduate College Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Vattoo, President of Punjabi Department Prof. Dr. Mirza Moinuddin, President of Urdu Department Dr. Muhammad Iftikhar Shafi and Dr. Nadeem Abbas Ashraf and other teachers, media persons and a large number of students participated in the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, Professor Qamar-ul-Zaman Khan said that Government Graduate College Sahiwal is not an ordinary institution, the children studying in the college are lucky to be studying in such a wonderful educational institution.

He said that publishing an academic and literary magazine is not an easy task but it requires hard work. He appreciated the efforts of Principal Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad Vito and his team.

Professor Dr. Iftikhar Shafi said that once upon a time, our educational institutions used to produce personalities, sports fields were populated with them, academic and literary associations were spreading the wealth of consciousness among students through their events.

He said that the literary magazine of every important university and college used to play an important role in the cultivation of knowledge and literature from which not only students but poets, writers, journalists, economists, politicians and scholars were born.

He said that the higher officials of the education department should oblige the heads of the institution to publish the college magazine. Director Sahiwal Arts Council Salim Qaiser appreciated the fine tradition of Government College Sahiwal to remember its luminaries and urged the children to read and benefit from this journal.

Director Public Relations Muhammad Aqeel Ashfaq said that along with the education of children, their personality development is also very important.

He congratulated Principal Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad Vito for providing a platform to the children to express their feelings. He described this tradition as important for curricular, co-curricular activities and highlighting their talents. On this occasion, Principal Government College Professor Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed exhorted the students to always do something that makes others happy.

He termed the publication of the academic and literary magazine “Sahiwal” as the fruit of hard work of the children and teachers and assured that the reception of the students will continue in the future. At the end of the ceremony, souvenirs were distributed among the guests and certificates of appreciation were also distributed among the students.
