Militant Leader Ali Rehman Eliminated in Tank Operation
Despite providing substantial evidence to the Afghan interim government, no action has been taken.
In a successful operation by security forces, a highly wanted terrorist of the “Fitna-e-Khawarij” group was killed.
According to security sources, the operation was conducted during the night of December 17-18 in the Tank district, based on information about the presence of Khawarij members.
During the operation, the highly wanted militant leader Ali Rehman, also known as Maulana Taha Swati, was eliminated.
Sources reported that seven Khawarij members were killed during the successful operation.
Ali Rehman was a close associate of Mullah Fazlullah, a key leader of the Fitna-e-Khawarij. Previously, other major leaders of the group had been eliminated in successful operations.
Security sources further revealed that the frequent killings of Khawarij members in Pakistan highlight the strong nexus between the Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban.
Despite providing substantial evidence to the Afghan interim government, no action has been taken.
The nexus between the Afghan Taliban and Fitna-e-Khawarij poses a significant threat to global and regional peace. Ali Rehman, alias Maulana Taha Swati, joined the TTP in 2010.
During the operation, one militant attempted to enter a house and held two children hostage in a room, trying to use them as human shields.
Thanks to the successful strategy of the security forces, both children were safely rescued, and the militant leader was killed.
Weapons and an explosives-laden vehicle, intended for a major terrorist attack, were also recovered from the terrorists.
