Commissioner Sahiwal inaugurates Chief Minister Punjab Green Tractor Distribution Campaign

A grand ceremony to inaugurate the Chief Minister Punjab’s Green Tractor Distribution Campaign was held at the District Council Hall, Sahiwal.

The event witnessed the participation of local dignitaries, government officials, and a large number of farmers.

Importance of Green Tractor Distribution

In his address, MPA Muhammad Arshad Malik highlighted that the initiative is a revolutionary step by the Chief Minister Punjab for the welfare of farmers.

He explained that the Punjab government is providing tractors to farmers through a lottery system, offering a subsidy of PKR 1 million per tractor.

Responsibilities of the Government and Farmers

Speaking at the occasion, Commissioner Sahiwal Shoaib Iqbal Syed remarked that the government has fulfilled its responsibility.

He urged farmers to utilize these tractors effectively to maximize wheat cultivation and appreciated the historic measures taken by the Punjab government in the agriculture sector.

Distribution Process and Transparency

Director Agriculture Chaudhry Shahbaz Akhtar shared that 26,391 farmers from District Sahiwal had registered online, and 228 lucky farmers would receive tractors through a transparent lottery system.

He further mentioned that 223 farmers had already been issued equipment minute letters, and the booking for 201 tractors was completed.

Financial Support and Initiatives

Chaudhry Shahbaz Akhtar added that farmers in the district are being provided with subsidies amounting to PKR 228.8 million under this campaign.

Additional initiatives include loans through Kisan Cards, free tractors to enhance productivity, and the provision of land laser levelers.

Distribution of Tractors to Farmers

The event concluded with the distribution of tractor keys to successful farmers under the Chief Minister’s Green Tractor Campaign, bringing joy to the farming community.

Farmers expressed gratitude to the Punjab government and pledged to contribute significantly to agricultural development.
