PICIIP: Chinese company fined for not adhering to timeline

Chinese company completed only 1.91 percent more work, while as per the target, it had to complete 9.18 percent of the work.

The Chinese company China Gansu Company, which is working to lay sewage line under the ongoing PICIIP program in Sahiwal city, has been fined another 5 crore 5 lakh 47 thousand rupees for not adhering to the timeline.

Commissioner Sahiwal Division Shoaib Iqbal Syed expressed displeasure over the slow pace of work and directed the company to adhere to the timeline so that the project could be completed within the stipulated period.

City Manager PICIIP Muhammad Asjad Khan said that this penalty was imposed for only 57.13 percent completion of the work rate from July 2023 to now instead of 55.22 to 64.40 percent.

Thus, in the last 4 months, the Chinese company completed only 1.91 percent more work, while as per the target, it had to complete 9.18 percent of the work.

Commissioner Shoaib Iqbal Syed also reviewed the repair work on Madhali Road and directed to complete it in the next 3 days so that the problems of the public can be reduced.
