Majeed Amjad Literary Society organized mushaera at University of Sahiwal

Under the direction of Vice Chancellor University of Sahiwal Prof. Dr. Javed Akhtar, Majeed Amjad Literary Society has organized a mushaera.

Renowned poets of the country participated in the poetry mushaera. The poetry mushaera was presided over by the pioneer poet of Urdu Ghazal, Abbas Tabish, while the special guests included Shaukat Fahmi, Nadeem Najid, Sarwar Khan Sarwar and Mustafa Anwar.

A large number of students participated in the poetry recital. The host poet of the poetry recital, Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed, also recited his poetry, while the guest poets included Asim Aslam, Zeeshan Khan, Azharul Haq and Hamza Ijaz Sahil.

The poetry recital was directed by Muhammad Roshanul Haq, President of Majeed Amjad Literary Society. All the poets, including the president of the poetry recital, Abbas Tabish, appreciated the efforts of Mubashir Saeed and the entire team of Majeed Amjad Literary Society for providing such a beautiful literary environment at Jamia Sahiwal.

The poetry registrar of Sahiwal University, Syed Ghulam Ali Asghar, Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Waseem Tufail, Director ORIC, Dr. Muhammad Ayub, and Head of the Department of English, Dr. Shabbir Jan, along with various faculty members, were present at the event.

In the end, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Javed Akhtar, thanked all the guest poets. He highlighted the importance of students’ involvement in such positive activities and announced to organize such activities at Sahiwal University.
