Supreme Court issues notice to Lt Gen (Rtd) Faiz Hameed

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued a notice to Lt Gen (Rtd) Faiz Hameed in the case of dismissal of former Islamabad High Court Judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.

Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Jamal Mandukhel, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Irfan Saadat are also included in the bench.

Yesterday, while hearing the constitutional petitions against the removal of Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui as a judge of the Islamabad High Court, the Supreme Court allowed the petitioners to make the relevant officers of the Pakistan Army a party to the case and adjourned the further hearing of the case till today. .

During the hearing, lawyer Hamid Khan said that what Faiz Hamid wanted happened, Faiz Hamid wanted Nawaz Sharif not to be bailed before the election 2018. The Chief Justice inquired that if the allegations were true, who was the one whom the General was facilitating?

It should be noted that former Islamabad High Court judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui has challenged his dismissal. Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui mentioned establishment interference during a speech for which he was sacked.
