Sahiwal administration finalizes arrangements for election 2024
1,747,205 people will exercise their right to vote in Sahiwal district. Among them are 944,245 males and 802,960 females.
All the arrangements have been completed for the general elections 2024 to be held tomorrow in 3 constituencies of the National Assembly and 7 of the Provincial Assembly in Sahiwal district and the supply of necessary equipment to the polling staff has completed.
The presiding officers have reached their respective polling stations by this evening so that polling can start on schedule.
According to the details, 1,747,205 people will exercise their right to vote in Sahiwal district. Among them are 944,245 males and 802,960 females.
1303 polling stations have been established in Sahiwal district, in which 376 male polling stations, 346 female polling stations and 581 polling stations will be combined.
Deputy Commissioner/District Returning Officer Sahiwal Ikram ul Haq visited all the sensitive polling stations of the district and reviewed the security arrangements there in detail. CCTV cameras have also been installed at all these polling stations.
Provision of transport has also been ensured to transport the polling staff to the respective polling stations and bring them back to the returning officers after the election and police personnel have been deployed for security arrangements.
Rangers and army troops will also be on standby to deal with any untoward situation.
582,432 people will exercise their right to vote in National Assembly Constituency NA-141 Sahiwal for which 430 polling stations have been established.
580,075 people will exercise their right to vote in National Assembly Constituency NA-142 Sahiwal for which 431 polling stations have been set up.
584,689 people will exercise their right to vote in National Assembly Constituency NA-143 Sahiwal for which 442 polling stations have been set up.
Similarly, 261,335 in PP 198 Sahiwal, 241,888 in PP 199 Sahiwal, 244,044 in PP 200 Sahiwal, 242,989 in PP 201 Sahiwal, 265,194 in PP202 Chichawatni, 242,156 in PP 203 Chichawatni and 249,599 people in PP 204 Chichawatni are eligible to vote.
District Returning Officer Ikram ul Haq has issued clear instructions for strict implementation of the code of conduct during the elections, in case of violation, immediate action will be taken to ensure the conduct of peaceful elections.
